About Kraft

Kraft paper is a strong brown paper that is excellent for paper packaging. Not many of us knew that it was developed by Carl F. Dahl in 1879 and was named after the German word Kraft, meaning strength.

The kraft paper is a result of conversion of wood into wood pulp. Hence, the Natural kraft paper that is not bleached has a light brown colour, while the bleached kraft paper is white. Bleaching is done during the paper manufacturing process while the paper is still in a pulp form. Fully bleached kraft pulp is used to make high-quality paper whereas strength, whiteness, and resistance to yellowing are important.

The kraft process can use a wider range of fiber sources than most other pulping processes. Kraft paper is considered strongest, amongst all of the common packaging papers available. So, it’s a great packaging solution, when strength is required. Many supermarkets, grocery stores and retail outlets offer kraft paper bags to customers for their shopping – these bags are less likely to rip under the weight of heavy food items or non-food items.

As kraft paper is a paper, it is also 100% recyclable which is an environmentally friendly choice to use paper packaging product in your business. Its strength means it can also be reused. Kraft paper is an excellent sustainable packaging option and a good alternative to traditional packaging items like plastic bags. Kraft paper can be made from all types of wood making it easy to manufacture and can bring the costs down when purchasing, in comparison to other packaging paper.

The various applications of the kraft paper are not limited to industrial heavy-duty use and is also ideal for retails bags and food packaging. We can choose from variable GSM paperweight based on our product holding Requirement.
