About Bio-bags
Unlike regular plastic bags, Bio-Bags are made from a resin derived from plants, vegetable oils and compostable polymers and can be consumed by micro-organisms that live in our soils. The Bio Bags can be biodegradable, compostable or Oxo-biodegradable. Depending on the bag composition, it can either be composted, or naturally bio-degrade with the help of naturally occurring bacteria or other living organisms. The compostable bags can be composted, along with organic waste at municipal composting facilities, which further breaks down into carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds and biomass. The Oxo-biodegradable bags are manufactured from a normal plastic polymer (i.e., polyethylene or polypropylene) incorporating an additive which causes degradation and then biodegradation of the polymer (polyethylene) due to Oxidation.
